WHAT IS DE NOVO?

 De Novo is a joint Union/Management program that offers help to people within the Unionized Construction Trades Industry. De Novo assists workers and their immediate family who have issues of any kind due to a dependence upon alcohol and/or drugs.

De Novo offers assistance with pre-treatment needs, a residential treatment program, long term placement and post treatment counseling. The recovery process is based entirely on the need of each individual.

1.      Does De Novo charge for this service?

 

    -  There are NO charges for De Novo services.

 

2.      What philosophy does De Novo utilize?     

 

    -  We follow a 12 Step philosophy and program at De Novo.

Therefore, all clients are encouraged to actively participate in their local AA group before, during and after treatment.

 

3.      How do I get referred to De Novo Treatment Centre?

 

     -You, along with your Business Agent, refer you to DeNovo                 Treatment Centre. However, only the affected individual himself can initiate the actual intake procedure for admission to De Novo Treatment Centre.

 

4.      How long do I have to wait before I am admitted to De Novo Treatment Centre?

 

             -You will be given an admission date once we have received your Medical Clearance Certificate.  Generally speaking, your wait will be no longer than two weeks. This gives you time to prepare and organize your benefits prior to entering treatment.

 

5.      Do both men and women attend De Novo Treatment Centre?

 

     - No, De Novo Treatment Centre is for men only. However, our women enter into the same process and are referred to a similar Centre for women.  The wait for admission may be longer due to the different admission regulations.
